On New Year’s Day, 2024, I’m haunted by an epiphany I had in 2015 – that I should do more of what only I can do, and less of what anyone can do.
Not that what I can do is better. It’s just better for me.
At the time, I was trying to break the tyranny of streaming binges and other habits.
While I mull my new mantra – Do What Only You Can Do – here are some bookmarks that caught my eye during the holidays:
20-24 may involve sedation … (Thank you, Slicing Up Eyeballs.)
I remember December 31, 1999, watching coverage of New Year’s celebrations in Paris and London, relieved that the lights were lit …
Artist Chris Barker’s annual collage of celebrities lost …
Homebodies that we are, especially during the pandemic years, it’s become a tradition to tune in to ActionKid for live tours, especially on New Year’s Eve …
We visited Las Vegas on New Year’s courtesy of The Other Me‘s live feed …
I live near Coney Island but have yet to participate in the Polar Bear Plunge – maybe next year …
And as I do my annual cleanup of my own act, I review Woody Guthrie’s New Years Rulin’s and wish you a happy and healthy new year.
